A Story You’ll Want to Finish

in One Sitting

ABOUT THE BOOK

Welcome to the neighborhood. Watch your husband, watch your friends, and watch your back.

Cat Winthorpe has worked hard to get what she has: a gorgeous home; social standing; and William, her successful, handsome husband. Then a friendly new couple moves into the estate next door. While cautious, a good neighbor like Cat greets them with open arms and warm hospitality.

Neena Ryder isn’t a fellow lady of leisure. A life coach with off-the-rack dresses, personal issues, and a husband who hasn’t delivered, she’s anxious to move up in the world. This beautiful new town is a step in the right direction. It’s also making Neena aware of what she doesn’t have. Namely, William. When Neena’s infatuation escalates into obsession, it’s just a matter of eliminating a few obstacles to get the life she wants. The life next door.

As Neena’s secret fixation grows, so does her friendship with Cat. But beneath their cordial interactions is a wealth of temptations, secrets, and toxic jealousy. For both women, the desire for a perfect life can turn perfectly dangerous.

My Thoughts

I’m so excited to share this with you since this is one of those books that checks all of the boxes for me. Every Last Secret is a story that starts with a bang and doesn’t let up until the last page. But beware, even though you may think you’ve got it all figured out, the pages will keep flying and it may not end exactly as you thought.

The beginning of this story has Nenna Ryder suspected of murder. She seems rather flippant and takes the accusation with seemingly little concern.

Then flashback four months and we have Cat and William Winthorpe enjoying their lavish life and upscale house. They own Winthorpe Technologies, but since her husband, who actually runs the business, is having some concerns about his relationship with the employees, he hires Neena Ryder. Her new position is that of a motivational coach.

But Neena may have motivations of her own. Almost immediately she and her husband Matt purchase the house next to the Winthorpes. But is the growing friendship between the neighbors on the up-and-up?

Though the cast of characters is very small, each plays their part beautifully. They are so believable you might even wonder if you haven’t met them someplace before. (Well, that’s if you live a ritzier lifestyle than I do.)

None

Final Thoughts

There was so much for me to like about this book. First, it captured my attention quickly. Then the rest of the story had me interested and racing through the pages.

The characters weren’t all surface characteristics, they developed from much deeper histories. I could feel a little something for everyone.

For the most part, the chapters alternated between Neena and Cat which helped me see things from different viewpoints.

This is an author that I will be following and I definitely recommend you read the book.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ability to freely post my opinion of this book and to receive an advanced copy of it.
