I have to admit, this is a first for me. I’m posting some thoughts before I’ve completely finished the book. The main reason is that on September 14, 2022 I will be posting this book on my Instagram account hosted by JustReadTours. At that time there will be a drawing and four winners will receive an ebook copy of the book and $10 Amazon gift card. So here are my thoughts so far regarding the book.
Author Lisa Phillips caught my attention from the get-go. Private Investigator Kenna Banbury is a heroine that pulled me in. Not because I immediately loved her, but rather she felt like she was full of history that I wanted to know. She felt anything but transparent and I wanted to know the real Kenna.
Early on I learned that she lost her position with the FBI due to a horrible incident. So for the last two years, she kept herself busy as a PI solving cold cases that had been almost forgotten.
To her chagrin when a murder happens and her PI card is left on the body, she is pulled into the FBI investigation. The last place she wants to be is with her past co-workers who hadn’t stood beside her two years ago.
She is pulled into the investigation as more than an investigator. She wonders if the FBI are holding her near as a suspect too. But is it possible she is also a target?
As I said, I’m not finished with this fast-paced story. But I can tell you I’m loving it!
The chapters end with a semi-cliff-hangers that make it hard to ever find a place to put my bookmark in and take a break.

Lisa Phillips is a British ex-pat who grew up an hour outside of London. It wasn’t until her Bible College graduation that she figured out she was a writer (someone told her).
