Welcome To Wishing Bridge

To be honest, I wasn’t aware that this was the third book in a series, but after starting it and wondering about the various characters, I backed up and started listening to Welcome to Wishing Bridge. The audiobook made housework, cooking, and completing the book much easier. And I wasn’t sorry that I learned a little more about the characters.

The town of Wishing Bridge is filled with a cast of characters you’ll want to familiarize yourself with. And I can almost promise that you will love them instantly. They are diverse in personalities and so believable that it’s fairly easy to visualize them. And the town itself is squeezably wonderful. A place that’s quaint and full of just the right amount of goodness, faith, and even a tad of orneriness.

In This Book

Jazz immediately runs into trouble as she hurries to meet her friends for a Fourth of July celebration. As she hurries down the dark path she senses someone behind her. The sound grows closer and closer. Then someone whispers her name and a warning. Suddenly her arm is grabbed.

Jacinda “Jazz” Monroe takes a lot of the spotlight in book 3. She is a former supermodel who now is a waitress/real estate investor. She is beautiful, confident, rich, famous, and the envy of many. But down deep, she is hiding a secret.

Her past makes her susceptible to stalkers so her friends work together to help protect her. Did I mention there might be a stalker in this book? Sound interesting? It is.

My Thoughts

If at all possible, back up and start with the first book. The story, town, and characters are well worth reading this whole series.

Finding Peace in Wishing Bridge can certainly work as a standalone book. But the emotions wrapped around each character won’t be felt the same without knowing their history.

Though I mentioned a stalker and mystery, don’t be mislead to think that is the focus. The focus is much deeper. There are thoughts and lessons to be picked up that will cause you to want these people to be your friends.

What Concerned Me

Nothing. Well, I guess a little something. I think you’ll really enjoy this book so much more if you start with Welcome to Wishing Bridge. That’s it. Start at the beginning of this series to get the most out of this book.

What I Liked Most

Wishing Bridge is is a small town with all the vibes of what you might dream of: small-town talk, interesting people, growth, and lessons to be experienced.

If you’re a fan of characters and not necessarily seeking a thrilling story, I highly recommend this series.

My thanks to NetGalley and Just Read Tours for a complimentary copy of this book. This review is strictly my opinion.

This is so cute! I’d like to share this quote from Ruthy’s web page:

I love flowers. I love gardens. I love getting dirty. And when my cute husband was nearing retirement age he got the idea of starting our sweet, roadside stand veggie farm up again.

Oh My Stars, the man is beyond happy! He can weed, use his roto-tiller, KILL BIG WEEDS WITH VIGOR, plant, draw rows (we use an old-fashioned row-marker, way cheaper than a tractor, LOL!) and watch his baby veggies and strawberry plants emerge….

But then…. Oh, THEN….. One big doe decided feasting on baby corn plants was her dinner of choice! Another one ate a half-row of bean plants to nubs…. My farmer was not happy.  🙁  Luckily we have two furry dogs, Libby the Standard Poodle and a pup from her final litter “Jeter” the Goldendoodle… Hairy dogs need clipping so we got a bag full of dog hair from Lynn-the-Groomer at Doggie Daze and spread it by the corn. So then the doe ate the beans because the corn SMELLED LIKE DOG.

Oops. So now there’s hair in the beans, in the corn, oh mylanta, it looks like we do outdoor barbershop fun around here! The birds will love the hair for late nests and it’s biodegradable and then we’ll spread MORE HAIR to thwart the critters… By then the bugs and blights will hit, and my hero will be out there, fighting them for the honor of his squash!!!  🙂  I did this slide show to share how fun (and earnest!!!! and slightly crazy) this new project is…. On the farm with Ruthy and Dave and the crazy group of little kids, big kids and baby people and baby animals surrounding us! ©Ruth Logan Herne
