My Thoughts:
One afternoon Joe and his sister Sally spot a strange set of footprints. After close examination, Joe is sure they are tracks from a small dinosaur. So what do children with imaginations do? Why of course follow the tracks.
The footprints lead to their pet’s bowl. An empty bowl. So it must be a very hungry dinosaur the two conclude.
They continue to follow the footprints into the yard and notice how deep the prints are. So it must be a heavy dinosaur.
As they continue to follow prints they decide that the tiny prints must be from a hungry, heavy, swimming, dancing dinosaur with a headache and a sore foot and wings!
But will they ever find the animal that made the prints?
What Concerned Me:
Though the story is cute, the ending was a bit of a letdown.
What I Liked Most:
As the imaginative kids follow the clues it helps teach deductive reasoning. It’s a quirky, silly story that includes funny illustrations.
