My Thoughts
While this rhyming text works through all of the letters in the alphabet, it feels more like a storybook than an alphabet book. Kids will hardly be aware that they’re learning to recognize letters as this captivating book is read to them. Below is an example:
At camp, big A was on kitchen patrol when B jumped over a mixing bowl.
“Watch me!” cried C, “I’m a good jumper, too. I bet I jump even farther than you.”
It looks like the letters may be up to a little mischieve, doesn’t it? When C ends up landing in the stinky trashcan, the other letters do their best to come to the rescue.
E‘s got more arms than F or G so the letters hurriedly pass the word and begin their search for E. But it isn’t turning out to be an easy task. No one knows where E is.
Each letter is mentioned during the story, some more directly than others. But with them all being in bold print, they are easy to identify.
It’s such a fun story. And there’s even a surprising twist at the end that adds to the attractiveness of this book.
My thanks to Schiffer Publishing for a copy of this book. This #bookreview is strictly my opinion.

What I Liked Most
It was an extremely engaging way to teach children to recognize upper case letters. And each letter is illustrated perfectly. They are all placed in various scenes, such as picnicking and fishing. And their eyes are full of recognizable emotions.
It’s an original alphabet book that is sure to bring lots of smiles. Be prepared to read it over and over.
About The Author
As a little girl, I saw letters as living beings – mischievous, ingenious, and inventive. Letters possess the transformative ability to create words, that in turn tell a story. So it was natural for me to write an alphabet book in which the letters are alive and brimming with personality, a story that is simultaneously an adventure tale, a puzzle, and a word game. I hope it will open a window for young readers through which they can glimpse language and reading as engaging, inviting, and most of all fun!
