getting lost somewhere in the Pacific Northwest with her friends, watching period dramas and facetious comedies, or spending time with her husband.
Interview
Could you introduce yourself to the readers?
Of course! I’m Kellyn Roth, author of Beyond Her Calling (of course) and a number of other novels. I live in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge with my husband where I write and work on and off in childcare.
I’m a student of the Author Conservatory and a writing coach. When not building my author career, I am likely getting lost somewhere in the Pacific Northwest with my friends, watching period dramas and facetious comedies, or spending time with my husband.
What genre do you write and why?
I write Christian historical women’s fiction and romance, talking about the empty places where hope has the most room to grow. I started writing historical fiction because it mirrored a lot of the books I read as a child, but as I grew older, I fell in love with the past—namely, with the various differences in societies from era to era. I love exploring such things in my novels!
What was the hardest character to write in Beyond Her Calling and why?
Violet is a tough one! She always requires a lot of research and sensitivity, but she’s also very fun to write!
Name a quirky thing you like to do.
I drink everything with a straw. Even hot coffee. I have friends who randomly save and bring me straws for this reason.
What is your next project?
My next project will be book five in my series, which is coming out this summer! I can’t wait to share it with the world.
