Book Description:

Do you ever wonder what happens to socks that get lost in the dryer? Join Lefty and Righty for the adventure of a lifetime as they sneak out of the laundry room with a destination in mind: a White Sox game! But with so much to do in The Windy City, will they make it to the game in time? Through their fun-filled day, they’ll discover the sights, sounds—and even the tastes—of Chicago, all while encountering a few surprises along the way!

I love it when a picture book blends fun and learning. And it’s even better when kids are so engrossed in the story that learning isn’t even noticeable. This is an entertaining story of a pair of socks escaping from the dryer. And who doesn’t like a sneaky disappearing act?

After finding a White Sox baseball ticket in the pocket of Dad’s jeans, Lefty and Righty know right where they’re heading.  But will they be back before Mom discovers that they are missing?

This creative tale of two socks and their educational adventure throughout the city of Chicago is sure to please little ones.

My Concerns

This is more something to note rather than a concern.

While some picture books are geared toward young children, I would guess this is better suited for most five to eight-year-olds.

Final Thoughts

This fun, educational book should make both kids and adults happy. The bright illustrations and story will likely hold short attention spans and the fun facts provided at the back of the book will satisfy curious minds.

My thanks to the publisher and iRead Book Tours for a copy of the book.
