Do You See What I See?

Look carefully at every page because things aren’t always what they seem to be. Dr. Goodview shows and explains more than 20 optical illusions to educate and entertain with amazing effects.

The above is an example of the many pages of fun experiences. The next page has a disc that should be turned to the left. Then afterward there is an explanation of why your brain is tricked into seeing something that isn’t really there.

Each page generates questions and different things to consider. Like how a picture can be turned upside down and still look complete and finished.

At the back of the book is an envelope with tools that are needed to examine some of the pages. The tools are to the left.

Each page is special in its own way. Some images seem to trick your mind, they disappear, and colors appear where none are. This sturdy little book will put your mind to work trying to solve what feels like unsolvable things.

My Thoughts

This is a book that is sure to delight all curious children . . . and maybe even some adults. Or perhaps lots of adults!

The heavier construction of the book is perfect for something that is sure to be used over and over.

What Concerned Me

Though there is an attempt to explain some of the eye and brain-behavior, I would have liked some further information or references for parents/teachers to continue this learning.

What I Liked

This is such a wonderful hands-on introduction to optical illusions and learning. The pages are sturdy and the contents definitely stimulate lots of thinking.

My sincere thanks to Schiffer Publishing for an ARC of this book and the ability to post my feelings about the content.
