Description

While this caught my attention rather quickly, I kept wondering when it would shift gears and take off.
I did keep turning pages and looking for the next curve or turn in this literary ride. Unfortunately, it started to become a repetitive road around and around. The characters shuffled in and out, but the story basically remained the same. It was written well and interesting, but I couldn’t wait for it to change course a bit.
There were definitely things that I liked about Kane’s writing style, but in the case of this book, the plot didn’t feel developed enough to fill the pages. It just grew too stagnant.
It did pick up interest and speed toward the end, but when I finally shut the book I had the feeling of Hmm, okay then. Not really how I like to feel after finishing a book. Thus the rating of 3.5 stars.
My Final Thoughts
This is an author I want to try again, but in this case I wasn’t overly impressed. However, you may like it, so always bear in mind that not all books work for all people.
