A Story That Will Hook You Almost Immediately
Publisher’s Blurb
The case was tragic. But it was an accident. Right?
Three years ago, a collision between a fast-moving freight train and a school bus full of kids led to devastation and grief on an unimaginable scale. But a fresh clue leads San Antonio police detective Amara Alvarez to the unlikely conclusion that one of the children may still be alive. If she’s correct, everything law enforcement believes about the accident is a lie.
With time running out, Amara must convince others–and herself–that despite all evidence to the contrary, the boy is alive. And she will do everything in her power to bring him home.
A fresh voice in suspense, Tom Threadgill will have you questioning everything as you fly through the pages of this enthralling story.

My Thoughts
If you’ve read many of my reviews, you know I need a book to catch my interest quickly. And this book did just that. When a woman professes that her child is possibly alive, even after documentation proves very much to the contrary, it’s easy to continue flipping through the pages.
But the proof of a fiery collision between a fast-moving freight train and a school bus full of kids is present. Plus DNA evidence makes it pretty hard to believe that a text to one boy’s mother saying, “Help me, Mom” is enough to cause doubt.
But it is.
Especially when the mother of another child who was on the bus receives a cryptic message.
All of these things niggle at the back of the mind of San Antonio police detective Amara Alvarez. But while her mind says otherwise, she can’t stop thinking about the what-ifs. Is it possible that the latest happenings can be attributed to coincidence? Probably. Well, maybe. But if even one of the children is still alive is the bus accident all a lie?
Author Tom Threadgill will have you wondering the whole time you are flying through the pages. His characters and dialog feel very believable. And the plot won’t disappoint.
My thanks to Revell for an ARC and the ability to post this review of my honest thoughts regarding the story.

What I Liked Most
I liked that the characters felt so authentic and that the story engaged my curiosity almost immediately.
Ever wonder if a good book can be published without profanity and sex? Keep reading my reviews, I’m discovering it is possible! And this just happens to be one of those books.
I highly recommend this 5 Star book.
