My Thoughts
This fun book is perfect for all Dr. Seuss lovers. It is bright, the characters are interesting, and the story is in verse.
It can be read and enjoyed just as an entertaining book, or it can open up lots of discussions. When people in a town all think the same and behave the same way, what will happen when a few decide to change things around a bit?
My Concerns
I have to admit, I’m not the best at reading aloud books that are written in verse, but I did read this aloud, just to get the feel of it. In my opinion, there were a few places that didn’t flow too easily. But bear in mind, this could just be a personal thing.
Final Thoughts
I really liked the illustrations and the story. I felt it opened the door for lots of discussions that could head in multiple directions. I highly recommend it for libraries and schools as well as personal use.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Damiano has a passion for creativity, and his stories always contain a positive message. He also wrote The Christmas Blanket, which earned him a Mom’s Choice Award. In The Christmas Blanket, his character EJ realizes the true meaning of Christmas, which is not about getting presents, but about giving back to others.
