What It’s About
In this unique alphabet book, members of the Elemental Dragon Clan, present 26 Magical Elements of the Periodic Table in alphabetical order. Each member of the clan has an element tipped tail. They also have magical powers based on the properties of their metals. There are no more perfect groups than unicorns and dragons to familiarize with elements from the Periodic Table. Their theme is “No Metal, No Magic. . .and No Technology”.
In this book, Antz starts out the book by introducing the very necessary metal, Antimony on his element page. Zora rounds out the alphabet by presenting scientific facts and other fun information about the metal, Zirconium, on her elemental page. In all, readers will get some great insight into the properties of 26 elements from the periodic table. Each Page is Full of Amazing Facts and Tons of Fun.

This book offers an engaging and creative approach to learning by blending fun and education. Written by Sybrine Durant and beautifully illustrated by Pranavva, it introduces an intriguing method for understanding and retaining information about the elements of the periodic table.
For instance, Quincy’s dragon tail is made of quicklime (CaO) which is a striking visual representation. Each page featuring Quincy is both colorful and informative, offering insights into the element, its uses, and its chemical formula. The “Did You Know?” section at the bottom of each page presents fascinating facts. Through Quincy, I learned that Calcium oxide is often called quicklime and where the origin of the phrase “in the limelight” originated.
I was really looking forward to getting this book because I’ve always had a hard time with math and the periodic table. The Dragons did a great job of breaking down complicated science (for me) in a way that felt less overwhelming. Even though science will never be my strong suit, the author packed a lot of info into a small book.
This would be a great asset for classroom teachers, and of course people of any age who are curious about basic information. It’s clear that a lot of work went into making this book full of bright, easy-to-understand facts.
Final Thoughts
Perfect for anyone who wants to learn about science with a little fantasy and fun in the background.
