ABOUT THE BOOK
Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a stroller, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth.
Edith may have been tricked into a nursing home, but at eighty-years-young, she’s planning her escape. Patience works there, cleaning messes and bonding with Edith, a kindred spirit. But Patience is lying to Edith about almost everything.
Edith’s own daughter, Clio, won’t speak to her. And someone new is about to knock on Clio’s door…and their intentions aren’t good.
With every reason to distrust each other, the women must solve a mystery with three suspects, two murders, and one victim. If they do, they might just find out what happened to the baby who disappeared, the mother who lost her, and the connections that bind them.
In the style of Daisy Darker and Rock Paper Scissors, Good Bad Girl is a thriller in which nobody can be trusted and the twists come fast and furious.

My Thoughts
The story begins with something that happens on Mother’s Day and ends years later with Mother’s Day. In between is a slow climb to a story that hooked me and will no doubt stay with me for longer than most.
But first, I have to mention that I loved the narration of this audiobook. I attribute Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine to keeping my attention throughout. And, yes, an easy-to-understand British accent wins me over almost every time.
This story was a slow burn and, for me, at the beginning, I was faced with a somewhat confusing list of characters and relationships to keep track of. However, this could have been the fact that I listen while doing other things. I soon had it worked out.
That said, as the story progressed I became all in with wanting to know where the plot was taking me. Some of it seemed obvious, yet other parts came as complete twists and surprises.
Though Feeney presented a few too many coincidences, in this case, I tossed my hat into the wind and enjoyed the wild ride.
My Concerns
It was a slow burn to the race track.
I had a little trouble keeping people and relationships clear in the beginning.
Did I have to suspend disbelief? Yep.
Final Thoughts
I speak only for the audiobook. But after the slow, somewhat confusing start, the narration easily brought the story up to 4 stars.
If you enjoy domestic suspense, I think you will want to listen to Good Bad Girl. Feeney throws in a few twists that I didn’t see coming. In some cases, I decided not to overanalyze them.
Narration: 5 stars
Story: 3.5 stars
