About the Book
Book: Dual Power of Convenience
Author: Chautona Havig
Narrator: Christa DelSorbo
Genre: Christian Contemporary Romance
Release date: March 4, 2021
All they wanted was a happily-never-after.
When Richard Danforth inherits the family estate on Merriweather Island, he doesn’t have time to deal with it – especially not from halfway across the globe. He’s too busy working to become the world’s newest billionaire and avoiding the women who would detract him from his goals.
Enter Lyla Santana. Fresh out of Oxford University with a degree in antiques and a relationship that nearly killed her to leave, she’s eager for the isolation and treasure trove that is Danforth Hall. Lyla also is determined to avoid men at all costs. Forever.
It was supposed to be a match made on paper. With him halfway across the globe, they’d never have to see each other again.
So, what’s Richard doing on Merriweather just weeks after the wedding? And how will his arrival test Lyla’s faith, not to mention stretch their so-called relationship?
In a twist on billionaire romance and marriage of convenience, this Merriweather book kicks off a new series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.
The Independence Island Series: Beach reads aren’t just for summer anymore.

My Thoughts
If you’re in the mood for a dose of humor and a story that will have you experiencing a beautiful island and romance, you’re there. Step off the ferry and experience Merriweather Island. I immediately fell in love with it!
This audiobook had me experiencing the warm breeze, along with characters and an interesting story that quickly drew me in. The narrator’s voice variances did a wonderful job of helping me actually visualize Lyla, who is moving to the island, and Mallory, who quickly befriends her.
As with many books, there were times I felt the story was heading down a predictable path. But each time I thought this, Havig would do a U-turn and surprise me.
The descriptions of the house and antiques, as well as the island, were just enough to easily help me experience the setting. And in my case, I was ready to pack my suitcase and go visit Mallory’s book shop, and then head to the beach to stick my toes in the sand while experiencing one of her specialty drinks. The island setting was perfect.
And one thing that added to the island setting was the small, cozy feel of the community. There was a small cast of characters in this story. But I can almost guarantee that you will end up falling in love with each of them. Many experience growth and understanding that makes them all the more believable.
My only “slight” complaint is that the reference to church and God felt a tiny bit overdone. Yet I put that word in quotes because I want it noted that it was a very small concern.
I would highly recommend the audiobook, since the accents and narration only add to an already good story.
My thanks to CelebrateLit for a copy of this to listen to and review. My review is just my opinion.

Well, audiobooks aren’t for everyone. My daughter says they don’t work for her either. Maybe you’ll want to try the book 😊
